LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (TWILA) — The Louisiana Master Farmer Program is marking 25 years of helping producers improve conservation and environmental stewardship.
Denise Richard completed the program and developed a conservation plan for her family farm. She says rotational grazing has allowed her to make better use of her acreage.
Nearly 390 farmers are certified or recertified through the program, representing about 220,000 acres of farmland. Its success has also led other states to look at adopting similar programs.
