Lower basin states’ plan to conserve CO River included in Biden’s latest proposal

The Bureau of Reclamation and the Biden Administration are praising the latest efforts to conserve resources along the Colorado River.

Collectively, Arizona, California, and Nevada plan to conserve at least three million acres feet of water from the waterway. It is an effort to keep reservoirs from falling to critical elevations over the next three years.

The Bureau of Reclamation says the lower basin states’ plan will be more effective than current guidelines. The Biden administration is including the plan in its latest proposal which also emphasizes improving regional hydrology.

The public has 45 days to submit their comments for the revised draft.
