Alton Jones

Texas native Alton Jones is one of the few to have entered the rarified air of the $3 million club for career winnings. The winner of the 2008 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Hartwell, Jones has accumulated more than 60 career Top 10s since his first professional competition in 1990. Jones won the 2021 General Tire Heavy Hitters on Shearon Harris Reservoir.

Alton enjoys studying the Bible and leading Bible studies both at home and while on tour. He plays pickleball at least four times per week. He also has a greenhouse, where he grows most of his flowers and vegetables from seed.

Growing up the son of a successful bass pro – father Alton Jones, a fellow MLF Bass Pro Tour Pro – Alton Jones, Jr. (“Junior” or “AJ” to family and friends) qualified to fish the Bassmaster Elite Series in 2017. His first Bass Pro Tour win came during Stage Two in 2022 at Lake Fork, his first time competing against his dad in a Championship Round. He went on to score $165,000 at Heavy Hitters 2022 by having the biggest bass in the Knockout Round and the Championship Round. Jones joined his father as a Heavy Hitters Champion in 2023.
