Midwest Governors Chime In On Waiver Effects

Two Midwest governors chime in on ways to mitigate the effects of the small refinery waivers.

Brownfield Ag News reports Minnesota’s Tim Walz and South Dakota’s Kristi Noem sent a letter to the White House asking the President to:

  • Include lost gallons in the pending 2020 RVO proposed rule
  • Initiate another biofuels infrastructure partnership through USDA Increase the minimum octane standard in gasoline and,
  • Direct EPA to enforce the clean air act requirement to replace the ‘aromatic toxins’ in gasoline, allowing refiners to use ethanol.

The two say the EPA waivers “undermines the integrity of the RFS” and harms their state’s ag communities.
