In late January, Motorworks Brewing in Florida began putting pets that were available for adoption on its beer cans to raise awareness.
It turns out one of the dogs belonged to a woman all the way in Minnesota.
According to WWSB, Monica Mathis was scrolling social media when she realized “Day-Day” from the beer cans looked just like her dog Hazel, whom she lost three years ago while she still lived in Florida.
“They (Manatee County Animal Services) told me to get on my information and send it. I guess you can say I was a little hysterical because I was scared someone was going to adopt her at that point or something,” she said. “I was scared I was going to lose her again. I was really nervous. I was like shaking. I was crying. My husband was like, ‘Why are you crying?’ Because I think this is my dog!”
Mathis had all of the proof of insurance go now once Hazel gets her health certificates, the two will be reunited.
