Move over Rudolph, there’s a new unique deer in town!

A rare white deer was recently spotted in West Seneca, New York.

The West Seneca Police Department called it a “majestic being” and said it could possibly be a “Seneca White Deer,” according to WKBW Buffalo. Residents around the area have even named him “Ghost” and say he has been around for years, even in their backyards!

All jokes aside, the creature appears to be a “leucistic white-tailed deer,” according to the Department of Environmental Conservation. Leucism is a rare condition where there are white patches or white fur, different than albinism.

The animal is subject to the same rules for white-tailed deer hunting, and they tend to have high mortality rates because they are so prominent to their predators.
