Two bayou farmers grow a record-breaking crop!
Louisiana natives, Mary Beth and Doug Meyer, grew a seven-pound 14-ounce grapefruit that’s more than 28 inches around. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the fruit broke two records. This is now the heaviest and largest grapefruit by circumference.
State Ag Commissioner Mike Strain joined the couple to present the official Guinness certificate.
