WASHINGTON, D.C. (RFD NEWS) — On National Ag Day, attention turns to the policies shaping American agriculture and the importance of advocacy in Washington.
Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) joined us on Tuesday’s Market Day Report to discuss his work ensuring agriculture has a voice on Capitol Hill.
In his interview with RFD News, Senator Marshall highlighted the significance of advocating for farmers in D.C. and shared his pride in representing Kansas agriculture. He recapped recent milestones in agricultural legislation, including the passage of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, and discussed efforts to address fertilizer supply and prices through the Homegrown Fertilizer Act.
Marshall also reflected on the USDA’s announcement of Product of the USA during National Ag Day, emphasizing its importance for American producers.
The bill has already cleared the House Agriculture Committee and is headed toward a full House vote, but the timeline for final passage remains unclear. But the question is, when exactly? Could it possibly be a nice little gift for Easter?
