National FFA Week is right around the corner

National FFA week is right around the corner.

It is a time to share what the organization is about, and what ag education is. It also gives members an opportunity to introduce FFA to people who may not be familiar with it.

Aside from celebrating, one of the biggest goals of National FFA week is to answer the public’s questions about the organization.

According to Kristy Meyerm, National FFA’s Communication Manager, “A lot of people don’t exactly know what FFA is, especially if they’re not from a community that might have a lot of chapters. So, they’ll ask what that means, what that is, and it’s an opportunity for our students to talk about agriculture and the big role agriculture plays in all our lives and the fact that it touches everything we do. It’s an opportunity for them to share with the community how important agriculture is in everyday live.”

National FFA week runs February 20th through the 27th.
