Dairy prices rebound sharply thanks to farmers quickly adjusting milk production while consumers boost retail demand. Government purchases also kicked in to help offset lost food-service sales.
RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison speaks with Alan Bjerga, with the National Milk Producers Federation, on the cut back of production, its effect on milk prices and what the forecast for prices will look like moving forward . “Dairy cooperatives stepped up. Cooperatives handle about 85 percent of the nation’s milk, and those cooperatives worked with farmers in finding ways to make sure production was reduced to put forth a market rebound, which every dairy farmer has been benefiting from in recent weeks,” he states
