New data shows that Iowa is still the top pork producing state in the U.S.

“We raise one-third of the total U.S. pigs raised here come from Iowa. So, one out of every three pigs is raised right here in Iowa.”

New data solidifies Iowa’s status as the number one pork producing state in the nation, providing 33% of the U.S. hog inventory, and creating more than 120,000 jobs.

Matt Gent with the Iowa Pork Producers Association spoke with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on the data’s highlights, contributing factors, and the top priorities for pork producers in 2025.
