The Federal Aviation Administration gave clearance for Guardian Agriculture to operate its flagship drone nationwide.
The unit is part of Guardian’s SC1 platform and is one of the first commercially-authorized electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The company says it has already received more than $100 million worth of custom orders with its primary use on large-scale farms.
It is not your typical drone, either. The aircraft has four propellers with each spreading six feet across. It can also carry 200 pounds and carry 40 acres per hour.
