Bailey Davis, President of Oakleaf, FL FFA Chapter, spoke with RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison, discussing how the chapter builds leaders and is practicing inclusion in agricultural education.
Oakleaf FFA, located in Florida, provides members with the opportunity to participate in their local “Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy,” a partnership between the chapter and their local Chick-fil-A. This leadership academy provides students with necessary skills for the workforce and challenges them to find a need in their community that they can fill with a project. Each year the academy’s class chooses a new project to help the community.
Not only do Oakleaf FFA members build valuable leadership skills, they also work with their special needs classes and elementary schools to educate non-traditional students about agriculture and provide opportunities to interact with the chapter’s members.
