The Liggett family set a new state record at Circleville Pumpkin Show. The Ohio event saw 40 entries, but their gourd was in a weight class of its own!

Their record weighed in at an impressive 2,388.5 lbs; the previous state record was 2,266 lbs.
The Liggett’s pumpkin was the first one at the Pumpkin Show history to ever weigh more than 2,000 lbs.

“I’m not sure what I feel right now but to have the state record right here in Circleville is fantastic,” Bob Liggett stated.

It was not a one-man team. Bob had special help from his grandchildren and other family members. “I have lots of help and I can’t honestly say I did it all myself, I had a lot of help. Everyone that helped me could grown their own pumpkin,” he explained.
