According to the International Game Fish Association, a four-year-old girl was fishing in Wyoming when she landed a beautiful golden trout.
The real kicker is that the catch may “potentially set the IGFA Female Smallfry Record for the species,” the association stated in a tweet. The trout weighed in at just 2 pounds.
Wyoming is known for record-breaking golden trout. Over 70 years ago, an individual was fishing in Cook Lake when he landed a 28 inch trout that weighed over 11 pounds.
Caroline May Evans, Age 4, recently submitted an application for this 0.92-kg (2-pound) golden trout to potentially set the IGFA Female Smallfry Record for the species. Caroline was fishing in Wyoming. After a quick fight and weighing, she was able to safely release the fish 👍🏼. pic.twitter.com/sIL4xfzcHU
