Farm coops hope that President Biden’s “Buy American” initiative will lead to more American food in schools.
The President signed an order yesterday making it more difficult for federal agencies to buy imported products.
The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives says that the order should lead to more oversight of school meal purchases. The Council says that there has been an increase in foreign-produced food served in schools, when American grown supplies are readily available.
