President of the National Corn Growers Association on legislation for higher ethanol blends at the pump

Legislation just introduced in Congress is pushing for higher ethanol blends at the pump. The Next Generation Fuels Act highlights the high octane, low carbon benefits of corn ethanol to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Kevin Ross, the president of the National Corn Growers Association, says that in general, clean fuels continue to reduce greenhouse gases on the production side of things.

“Certainly at the plant level, these guys are doing it more efficiently every day,” he said. “As far as the industry goes we matured a long ways... These fuels with higher levels just make more sense, more sense to get in the tank, certainly for the long-term benefit for the consumer.”
