California rodeos are being threatened following an ordinance request to ban animal exhibitions in Los Angeles. Protect The Harvest has now launched a petition to help protect these rich traditions.
Former Chairman and CEO of the PBR, Jim Haworth speaks with RFD-TV’s own Christina Loren on the ordinance, misconceptions about rodeo, and their campaign to save them.
“The city of Los Angeles, right now the city council has asked their attorney to draft an ordinance to limit live animal exhibitions in the city of Los Angeles, which would include rodeos, bull riding, dog shows-- a lot of different things from an animal standpoint,” Haworth explains. “We really want to make sure that people understand that when you look at Los Angeles, the history tied back to agriculture and rodeo is amazing, and I’m somewhat amazed that the city council doesn’t understand what history is there.”
