Short-track racing legend David Rogers passed away Sunday morning following a two-year battle with cancer.
Rogers won a total of six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Florida state championships.
Rogers was crowned NASCAR’s National Short Track Champion in 1994.
Rogers sat out the 2019 season but got back in the driver’s seat in December when he competed at the Snowball Derby in Pensacola.
His last start came on Feb. 12.
