The party that will control the Senate hinges on Georgia.
This morning the Associated Press has declared Democrat Raphael Warnock the winner in the runoff with incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler.
She was appointed to replace Sen. Jonny Isakson when he resigned and held a seat on the House Ag Committee, which she will now vacate.
Warnock is a pastor, and says that his priorities include rebuilding rural communities, encouraging more young people to pursue farming, and fighting climate change with ag policy.
The other runoff with incumbent Republican David Perdue is too close to call. Democrat Jon Ossoff is reportedly ahead, gaining a few votes as the count continued this morning, but it is within the margin that triggers an automatic recount.
Perdue is the cousin of Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue. The battle for control of the Senate now comes down to this race.
