RFA awards Collin Peterson for contributions to ethanol

Former House Ag Committee Chairman Collin Peterson receives an award for his contribution to the ethanol industry.

The Renewable Fuel Association presented Peterson with the RFA Industry Award during its annual conference. They say he has been “the ethanol industry’s most effective and passionate advocate in the House of Representatives for decades.” That is from RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper.

While in office, Peterson helped form the Congressional Biofuels Caucus, the Renewable Fuel Standard, and brought more transparency to the Small Refinery Exemption Program. He also helped secure COVID-19 assistance for ethanol producers.

In accepting the honor, Peterson said that he believes in ethanol. It has been a passion of his and it is a pleasure for him to be able to lend a helping hand to ensure the industry is successful and moves ahead.

He went on to say that he is not going to walk away from ethanol; the industry has his help whether it wants it or not.
