Rural businesses left out of latest attempt for stimulus relief

Rural businesses are once again left out of stimulus relief. The updated HEROES Act excluded USDA Rural Development lendees, leaving many small town employers struggling to keep their doors open.

Johnathan Hladik with the Center for Rural Affairs spoke with RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison on what the lack of relief means and why these communities are being left out

“This is a big deal for us in rural communities. We know that the House of Representatives had an opportunity to extend the same basic protections to rural businesses that they have already given to businesses in more populated areas and they chose to pass,” he said. “That is a tremendous disappointment and we’re looking at our next steps.”
