Rural moms at higher risk of life-threatening pregnancy complications, according to new study

Women in rural communities experience higher death rates during pregnancy or up to one year after birth.

A new study finds that there is a higher risk of maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity among rural residents. The data comes after lawmakers requested the report almost two years ago.
