While visiting his home state of Georgia, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue thanks the USDA team that created the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.
Secretary Perdue states, “We have some wonderful career people at the USDA... they worked 24/7 because they understood the needs out there.”
He says that as the supply chain faced the possibility of failure, the USDA sub-agencies created the program in record time. Perdue notes, “This kind of contract would usually take years... these folks did it inside of 30 days.”
Perdue also wanted to thank the farmers and ranchers of this nation, who he says that despite getting knocked down, they keep getting back up.
