NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) Farm groups applaud the Senate draft of the Farm Bill, but some lawmakers are still looking for common ground in a bipartisan effort to advance the measure.

Senator Chuck Grassley will offer an amendment to tighten eligibility rules for commodity programs. The current draft makes just one change to eligibility rules, reducing the income limit for commodity programs from $900,000 to $700,000. Senator John Thune will consider possible additions to expand the CRP and ARC programs. Mitch McConnell says he intends to pass the bill, which includes provisions to legalize industrial hemp production and offers crop insurance provisions for the sector.

Lawmakers will mark up the legislation tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, and the full Senate plans to take it up before the July 4th recess.
