RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison reports that the Senate has just recently passed its fourth Coronavirus Relief Bill.
The new legislation will now allow agriculture access to the Emergency Injury Disaster Loan Program, which previously excluded ag businesses. Once passed by the House, the bill would also replenish the Paycheck Protection Program with $321 billion dollars; out of that, $60 billion dollars is intended for smaller community lenders. This brings the total amount of coronavirus aid to around $3 trillion dollars.
The VP of Government Affairs for the NCBA, Ethan Lane, stated, “We urge the House of Representatives to move swiftly to approve this package and deliver these funds to producers... who are continuing to keep grocery store shelves full during this economic disaster.”
