Short-staffed BLM facility to blame for multiple horse deaths in Colorado

We have an update about the 145 wild horses that died due to equine flu.

Investigators with the Bureau of Land Management found the Colorado facility failed to vaccinate the horses due to a lack of workers. The horses were hauled to holding pens just seven months ago. This is in violation of federal policy which says that horses must be free-branded and dewormed within 30 days of capture, and they should be vaccinated as soon as possible.

The BLM found the facility in violation of thirteen policies.
