President Biden recently signed an executive order aimed at directing more spending to the biotech industry and major ag groups are reacting.
The American Soybean Association says it appreciates the order’s leveraging of the bio-economy for improving food quality, increasing yield, and protecting against plant and animal diseases.
The ASA also likes the guidance directing the USDA, EPA, and FDA to identify gaps in agricultural biotech; the steps to expand domestic bio-based product manufacturing; and the year review where the Ag Secretary will report to the President on the resilience of the biomass supply chain.
