The wine and grape industry is bursting in Tennessee

You may not think of Tennessee as a wine state, but it is becoming a big business! In fact, the Governor has declared the month of May to be Wine and Grape Month.

This is an effort to highlight a growing agricultural sector. The Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture says 68 wineries in the state are impacting not only agriculture, but manufacturing and tourism too. The wineries also add 600 jobs to the state’s economy.

The wine and grape industry has seen a 250% growth since 2013. The total economic impact to Tennessee is estimated at $2 billion.
