This year’s HPAI outbreak has impacted producers, both large and small

Hungary has culled more than 91,000 ducks due to HPAI. It was on a farm near the Romanian border.

Until now, the outbreak had only been reported in the southern part of the country. The World Organization for Animal Health reports that the outbreak killed 2,500 ducks with the rest culled for containment measures.

So far, the virus has killed more than 37 million birds in our domestic flock. A University of Nebraska professor and veterinarian says that the illness has impacted producers, both large and small.
