Food prices are going down, but still much higher compared to last year

Food prices are going down slightly, but they are still much higher than a year ago.

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization‘s May Price Index is 29 percent above 2021.

Prices did go down 0.6 percent last month and experts say that is because of lower dairy and sugar prices. That is the second month in a row with a slight decline, but the price of grains is continuing to keep the Index high - those prices rising more than two percent in May.
