Three counties in southern Idaho are speaking out about a proposal that would turn 73,000 acres of public land into a 400-turbine wind farm. They are worried about the impacts it would have on agriculture in the area.
County commissioners are voicing several concerns, like impacts to cattle grazing near the turbines and hampering the ability to fight wildfires with the towers being so tall.
Those counties have filed official resolutions to keep the windmills off the property and have requested a complete study of what the area will look like with the towers in place.
