Drought leading ranchers to switch grazing strategies

Cattle producers across the U.S. are switching up their grazing strategy after the hot, dry summer.

In Nebraska, ranchers who usually use prescribed burns to help conserve their grasslands, are having to abandon that practice as fires could get out of control with dry grass. This means they are having to rotate herds quicker.

High input costs have also inhibited producers from burning as much as they wanted.
