Superior Livestock’s Video Royale Returns With Strong Cattle Demand and 140,000 Head on Offer

Superior Livestock Auction expects strong demand at next week’s Video Royale in Nevada, featuring more than 140,000 head of cattle and buyers from across the country.

MADRAS, ORE. (RFD NEWS) — Superior Livestock Auction’s summer sale season is off to a strong start, with demand for cattle remaining aggressive as the company prepares for one of its biggest events of the year.

Trent Stewart with Superior Livestock Auction joined RFD News to discuss current market conditions and preview next week’s Video Royale auction in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Stewart said Superior’s summer run has seen strong demand, pointing to successful sales in Steamboat Springs and the Corn Belt Classic. While recent market volatility could affect receipts, he expects the upcoming sale to remain “remarkably good.”

He said the Video Royale has become one of the premier summer cattle marketing events because it features a large share of cattle from across the Northwest, including Oregon, Nevada, Washington, California and Idaho. Stewart noted the auction is well attended by buyers seeking British and British-influenced genetics, weaned calves and cattle suited for stocker and feeding operations.

Looking ahead, Stewart said buyers can expect to see more than 140,000 head of cattle offered during the four-day event, including cattle from established ranches and a variety of value-added programs.

For those unable to attend in person, Stewart said the auction can be viewed and participated in online through Superior’s bidding platform at SuperiorLivestock.com or by using the company’s bid line.

He also encouraged producers who are considering marketing calves later this summer or fall to begin working with Superior now, emphasizing that consistency helps build buyer confidence. Stewart said there is still time to consign cattle for upcoming sales, but noted many of the nation’s top cattle are marketed during the summer run.

Trent Stewart with Superior Livestock Auction joined RFD News to discuss the summer cattle market, next week’s Video Royale auction, and opportunities for both buyers and sellers as the marketing season continues.
