Team Starbrite’s Jacob Wall Ready for His Second Chance at Victory in MLF Team Series

Bass Pro Anglers Jacob Wall and Bobby Lane will fish together in the Summit Cup after facing elimination in the Challenge Cup Knockout Round.

NEW HOPE, Ala. (RFD-TV) — The countdown is on for the Major League Fishing Summit Cup. As part of the lead-up to the big event, Bass Pro Angler Jacob Wall of New Hope, Alabama, joined us on Thursday’s Market Day Report to share how he is preparing for the fourth and final Team Series competition.

Wall, who moved from Oregon to Alabama near Lake Guntersville, reflected on the transition from fishing for salmon and trout in the Pacific Northwest to targeting bass in Southern lakes — a move that helped launch his professional angling career. He recently placed second in the Ultimate Angler World Championship at Guntersville and has earned a reputation as one of the steadiest anglers on the pro circuit.

Looking ahead to the Summit Cup, Wall discussed his strategy for fishing within 60 miles of Shreveport, explaining how he adapts his approach to fall conditions as water temperatures cool, which changes fish behavior.

He also talked about teaming up with pro angler Bobby Lane as part of Team Star Brite. Lane is a Redcrest Champion and Bassmaster Elite winner, and Wall said their familiarity and shared experience make for a strong pairing. The duo also teamed up for the Challenge Cup, but were eliminated in the second Knockout Round.

Wall said he will head to the event Saturday to finalize preparations — and admitted that when he is not on the water, he relaxes with another favorite pastime: gaming.
