A teen’s prize-winning horse was shot and killed in his pasture on Monday morning in Bennett, Colorado. The local Sheriff’s Office said the crime happened around 3 am.
The owner of the horse named Chief Boo Boo, a teenager named Maggie, told Fox31 News that the horse was her best friend and they had won several barrel racing titles before the horse retired.
Through tears, Maggie told Fox31 News that maybe the horse was killed by mistake or someone was just shooting horses randomly in the area.
There was no video surveillance at the crime scene so it will be difficult to identify who shot the horse.
