The iconic Wienermobile gets a new name after a century

For the first time in a century, the longevity of Oscar Mayer’s Wienermobile, the famous hot-dog-shaped vehicle is getting a new name. Say hello to the Frankmobile.

The company says the Frankmobile name “pays homage” to the new recipe for its hot dogs that are rolling out this summer. Even though the name is different, the vehicle is basically the same besides a new decal on the side.

A company spokesperson tells CNN, Oscar Mayer was reluctant about the name change being permanent and that is it trying to see if it “cuts the mustard” with its fans.

The Wienermobile dates back to 1936. The company now has six of the 23-foot-long vehicles, which travel across the country to events like state fairs, sports contests, grocery stores, and more.
