Brady Barrow is a Texas FFA Ambassador attending the 89th annual State FFA Convention. He joined us today to talk about the organization and the events that will be taking place at the convention.
Texas is home to the largest state FFA organization. It is estimated that 12,000 members will be attending this year’s convention. These members can partake in events such as public speaking, quiz bowl, and the FFA Rodeo.
In a state as large as Texas, it is not surprising to find a vast array of agricultural strengths. We asked Barrow about the diversity of agricultural education in the state. He maintains that each school has its own unique set of strengths, mentioning, by way of example, some schools in East Texas that use aquaculture to grow catfish which are sold to local restaurants.
FFA Ambassadors such as Barrow have the privilege of accompanying their organization’s corporate sponsors around the convention, leading them to the various sessions and exhibits. The opportunity of becoming an Ambassador is open to all FFA members.
