TN State Veterinarian on HPAI: We can’t get goods into international markets

High Pathogenic Avian Influenza has affected nearly 58 million birds since it began almost a year ago.

It was detected in a commercial broilers flock in Weakley County, Tennessee recently, underscoring the need to enhance biosecurity.

Tennessee State Veterinarian, Dr. Samantha Beaty spoke with RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander about where the state stands with the latest outbreak, what type of risks it poses for poultry producers, and if there are additional concerns if people are thinking about starting their own backyard flock.
