It’s National Tomato Day, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of fresh tomatoes!
Fresh tomatoes are produced nationwide in the United States, with California and Florida as the leading producers. In California, fresh tomatoes are produced year-round except in winter. In 2022, the state’s tomato production came in at 10.5 million tons with a value of $1.2 billion.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture takes us to a fourth-generation tomato operation known as River Vista Farms.
