Update on CFAP freeze

USDA says that the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, or CFAP, is still frozen.

The new administration is taking a long and close look at how much money is available, how much has been spent, and where it has been going.

Chief Economist Seth Meyer says that it is not surprising, given the changing of the guard, and the discussions have been intense.

He says that a decision will likely come after Ag Secretary nominee Tom Vilsack’s confirmation, which is set for Tuesday.
