The Senate is expected to confirm Tom Vilsack as Ag Secretary this afternoon.
The Hagstrom Report says the floor hearing is set for 2:15 pm ET. There will be 20-minutes for debate, equally divided between the two senate leaders. Senator Chuck Grassley is confident Vilsack will get the chamber’s full support.
Analysts believe once he is sworn in pandemic relief will quickly resume. The C-FAP program has been frozen since the new administration took office. In December, Congress approved an increase of 20-dollars per acre.
