Ag Secretary designee Tom Vilsack will talk about a plan to end discrimination in USDA programs.
His Senate confirmation hearings get underway today. His nomination is widely seen as positive among the ag industry, but he has faced some push back by black farmers for failing to address racial inequality why he served in the role under President Obama.
Vilsack is also expected to talk about helping to end the pandemic, building and maintaining new ag markets, and ending the farm debt cycle.
