Watch: RFD-TV’s The American 2020 Champions Accept Their Buckles and Checks

Following their wins in the Shootout Round at AT&T Stadium, RFD-TV’s The American’s 2020 Champions took the stage to receive their buckles and $100,000 checks, and western sports reporters Amy Wilson and Janie Johnson were on hand to get their initial reactions.

Hear what Kaycee Feild, Matt Reeves, Kaycee Hollingback, Luke Brown, Joseph Harrison, Wyatt Casper, Shad Mayfield, Stevi Hillman, Joao Ricardo Vieira, and Sage Kimzey had to say.

“Oh man, there was a lot of pressure today,” said Bareback Champion Kaycee Feild, who took the title with a 93-point ride on the legendary Virgil of C5 Rodeo. “ I had a really good horse; those other guys had really good horses too. Just knew I had to keep my chin down and keep gassing it. Tim, Clayton, Tony — those guys are tough competitors, great bareback riders, and beating them guys feels pretty good.

“This is just an unbelievable feeling,” said Casper, who won the Saddle Bronc Champion title on Northcott Macza’s renowned bucking horse Get Smart. “That horse won the halter last year and I’ve been waiting for my time to get on him, and it couldn’t happen at a better place.”

“There’s no pressure like that, roping for a million, or splitting it,” said Mayfield, the new Tie-Down Roping Champion. “There’s so much pressure right there, I was just trying to hold my breath and just get the run over with.”

“I just want to cry,” said Barrel Racing Champion Stevi Hillman. “I am so thankful, and it’s just great to run against the competition here. It’s always fun watching, and I pictured myself up here on this stage telling ya’ll God is so good — I’m so thankful.”
