The National Farmers Union is hopeful Congress can get the Farm Bill completed on time next year.
The group says with public listening sessions scheduled to kick off just days after the new Congress starts, they are hopeful a bill will end up on the President’s desk by the September deadline.
The group says they would like to see a competition title in the bill, saying it could benefit farmers and consumers. They are also vying for a farm safety net that would reflect today’s markets with inflation and high input costs.
