Chinese soybean imports may soon be coming from a different country.

Last year, China imported most of its bean supplies from Brazil, but last month imports were down 16 percent from 2022, totaling just 5 million metric tons. This is due to harvest delays in the South American country as well as slower shipment arrivals.

However, Chinese soybean imports from the United Statesare up 11 percent, coming in at just under 2 million metric tons in April.
