World food prices dropped for the 10th consecutive month

World food prices have now dropped for 10 straight months.

The FAO World Food Price Index dipped 0.8 percent in January from the previous month. It is nearly 18 percent lower than the peak in March last year.

Vegetable oil, dairy, meat, and sugar were all down, but rice jumped more than 6 percent from the previous month.
