World food prices were basically unchanged in October

According to the FAO, global food prices dropped for the seventh consecutive month.

The World Food Price Index is out and it remains virtually unchanged from last month.

Global food prices dropped again for the seventh straight month, but not by much. Prices are still two percent higher than a year ago. It came in at 135.9, which is down a tenth of a percent from September.

World cereal prices rose 3 percent with wheat gaining 3.2 percent. Dairy, meat, and sugar all saw a decline.
