Chris LeDoux was a singer-songwriter and rodeo champion. As a country singer, he received a Grammy nomination and an ACM award. He also performed and participated in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

LeDoux retired from rodeo in 1980 and that is when his music career began. Some of his hits include “Riding for a Fall,” “Cadillac Ranch,” and “Tougher Than the Rest.”

He had five children. His son Ned followed in his footsteps and is now a country music singer-songwriter in his own right. His first project, Forever A Cowboy, was released in 2016, and his most recent album was released this year, titled Buckskin.

Ned teamed up with Country Rebel to cover one of his father’s most iconic songs-- “This Cowboy’s Hat.”
