Zippy Duvall: Property rights are a constant concern for the Farm Bureau

As the battle continues over land rights for projects like power transmission and carbon pipelines, one of the largest voices for U.S. agriculture is weighing in.

AFBF President Zippy Duvall tells Brownfield Ag News that a lot of the concerns have been driven by green energy initiatives. They are not swing one way or another but he says they are working to make sure farmers understand the value of carbon pipelines to the ethanol industry. He notes that AFBF is very protective of property rights.

Just recently, South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal said if a company is able to get two-thirds of landowners to agree, eminent domain should be an option for the rest.
